Taking a sketchbook with me to a cafe allows me to observe the gestures, expressions, body language and complexities of human relationships going on around me. I am a kind of "art voyeur", with a pen in hand that acts like a seismograph, recording life as it unfolds. Little dramas everywhere. It makes being an artist a privilege to observe life so!
